Sport in Shannon’s life
	I have to say that my daughter Shannon has been a great fan of sports since childhood. Naturally, our family was always fond of sports, especially outdoor activities such as running, biking, swimming, kayaking in the summer, and skating and Skiing in winter. But Papa John was the one who interested Shannon in improving her cross country Skiing skills so that she could compete with her counterparts in the competitions in the future. My mother-in-law says that my husband’s father, Papa John, was a great sportsman once (some even say that he was invited to participate in Winter Olympic Games in cross country Skiing after the Second World War). So that is how Shannon had begun her serious practicing. An evening before we were scheduled to fly to Colorado, Shannon came to the living room and sat down on the couch in front of me with a mysterious smile. When I asked her what was on her mind, “Nothing”, she said quickly, jumped out of the couch and ran to her bedroom. “What kind of secret is she keeping from me?” I thought to myself, but soon I forgot about this event altogether.
